Description:
View of exhibited work. Photographer's statement: "The series 'Worlds Apart' invites the viewer to experience one individual's outlook toward personally significant places and the relationships that can form between people and memories of such settings. The work explores a balance between contemporary landscapes on a calibre of fine art, and the use of excessive digital manipulation to present an unusual depiction of a traditional landscape. The punctilious assembly of multiple images and digital components within each piece dissipates the sometimes limiting confinement of what can be contained within a single frame. This notion is further emphasised with the use of large, stark prints, which are then joined to form a single, seamless panoramic piece. The series' form and layout is a subtle reflection of the alignment of our immediate solar system, complementing the notion of an individual's familiarity with 'their own world'."
