Description:
Detail. Photographer's statement: "My final body of work is based around a documentary series projecting the relationship between people and their tattoos. At first, my work was predominantly based around the personal connection people can have with their artwork, merged with text from my subjects themselves. However, my project gradually progressed into being more about the relationship between the images and the opinion of the viewer. I want my viewers to reveal their own assumptions and have their own opinions rather than be told what to contemplate through accompanying text. Visually, my portrait images are hyper real, my intention was to make my images very confrontational when viewing, my subjects are proud of the art that is branded on them for the rest of their lives and they want people to take notice and to look, whatever the viewers opinion is."
