Location: On top of the Old Town Hall building. This was originally built as the School of Science and Art.
Description: A middle aged Queen Victoria stands, crown on head, at roof level above the archway into this building. She has a sceptre in one hand and an orb in the other. The stone is a different colour to that of the building.
Commission: This School of Science and Art was built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. The total cost of the building was £2,500 and the money raised by public subscription. It was opened by Earl Fitzwilliam. [1] The architect was E.I. Hubbard.
Comment: There is a mosaic of Rotherham's coat of arms on the floor of the arcade inside the building.
