Detail of sculpture. A column of stainless steel with inset bronze objects relating to local history and culture. Danum was the Roman settlement at the site of present-day Doncaster.

Location: Sir Nigel Gresley Square, Doncaster Town Centre.

Installed at the same time as the square was created.
Sir Nigel Gresley was a locomotive engineer who oversaw the design of the Mallard and the Flying Scotsman. The Square is at the heart of the new Civic and Cultural Quarter in Doncaster and is surrounded by new Civic Offices, the (older) Central Library, and Cast - a new performance venue.
