Description:

View of dragon from Platform 2.
Location: Platform 1, Barnsley Railway Station, Barnsley. Description: A dragon cut out of dark grey painted sheet metal attached to a low wall at the end of the platform. From the train window or from the platform opposite the dragon is clearly visible. A series of struts protrude from the dragon which, when viewed from further down the platform, are revealed as travellers waiting to catch a train. When viewed from Platform 1 to the piece the shape of the dragon is half-hidden by the travellers and is not immediately obvious. Dimensions: 10.2m long x 2m high.
