Description:

Sycamore Gap on Hadrian's Wall west of Housesteads Fort and Museum. Image shows Roman Wall (top to bottom), Pinfold (circular enclosure for storing stray sheep and managed footpaths. The site was used as a film location for 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves' (1991). The Wall was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
