Description: 
Detail: gravel path outside Britten-Pears Building (1979, - left), the gravel is contained within a mesh. Dovecote Studio (TOMPKINS, 2009 - right). The Britten-Pears Building provides rehearsal space and a smaller concert venue for the Aldeburgh Festival, founded in 1948 by Benjamin Britten, Peter Pears and Eric Crozier. The Dovecote Studio a steel shell rises from a ruined brick dovecote and provides a working space for composers, writers and visual artists. Converted and extended from pre-existing 19th century maltings buildings. The site is still undergoing renovation and conversion [2014] and contains the Concert Hall (1967), Rehearsal Rooms, Galleries, Craft Shops, Sculptures, Shops, Studios and private housing units.
