Detail: gravel path outside Britten-Pears Building. Gravel contained within a mesh. The building provides rehearsal space and a smaller concert venue for the Aldeburgh Festival, founded in 1948 by Benjamin Britten, Peter Pears and Eric Crozier. Converted and extended from pre-existing 19th century maltings buildings. The site is still undergoing renovation and conversion [2014] and contains the Concert Hall, Rehearsal Rooms, Galleries, Craft Shops, Sculptures, Shops, Studios and private housing units.
