|
General view of work. Photographer's statement: "What we eat and how we purchase our food are two key policy agendas in this country. Through investigating the production line of local independent food retailers I have visited the wholesale markets where they source and buy their produce. I am interested in the unfamiliar aspect of these traders operating at night and as a stranger to the environment, capturing objects and people that fascinate me. My practice is characterized by the observation of my surroundings with a formal nature and I like it when non-subjects or less important ones are elevated to the status of importance even in a comical sense. Through documenting the subject in a playful way, I have opened up new ideas about a place that gives the viewer an insight into the mentality of it there."
