Description: 
Base of monument. Location: On a triangular site adjoining Doncaster Road (A635) at its junction with Hickleton Road. The ground is marked off with small stone bollards supporting a chain and planted with trees. The memorial is in its centre. Description: An octagonal shaft and 2-tiered pedestal supporting a cross, the whole mounted on 5 octagonal steps. On the cross facing east is a badly worn coat of arms; facing west is a bearded figure holding a child. The monument is sited on a circular grass mound. Inscription: On the upper pedestal, facing the church: May 6th 1910. On the upper pedestal, facing away from the the church: Grant him O Lord eternal rest / and in light perpetual / shine upon him : On the lower pedestal, facing the church: to Edward vii : / King of England : / in memory of the past : On the lower pedestal, facing away from the church: Erected by Charles Lindley : / Viscount Halifax : his / ? and ? : Commission: Charles Lindley (1839-1934) 2nd Viscount Halifax.
