Exterior detail: Facade on Midland Road - extension to original station in modern Gothic Revival. The original station was first designed by William Henry BARLOW and G.G. SCOTT's designs for the hotel located in front were successful at a subsequent competition. 2007 renovations included the facade here as well as extensive work to the station including retail units and concourses designed by CHAPMAN TAYLOR.
