Description: 
Interior detail: stained glass windows by FORSYTH and RUTHERFORD (1961). These commemorate the contribution to the building of the cathedral of various trades and associations including R.I.B.A. / S.E.S.A / The Worshipful Companies of Tylers & Bricklayers, Tin Plate Workers, Glaziers, Founders, Blacksmiths, Carpenters and Joiners & Ceilers as well as particluar individuals who worked on the constrcution of the cathedral. The foundation stone was laid in 1936, but building was interrupted by the 2nd World War and recommenced in 1947. The Cathedral was consecrated in 1961 and the final parts of the building: Western Porches (the Garths), the Sacristy, the Lady Chapel, the Chapter House and The Tower were not completed till 1966.
