Description:
The centre of the city is split by a deep valley formed by the River Alzette. Old fortifications surround much of this and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tall buildings in the background are in an area called the Kirchberg devoted to European Union buildings and also home to MUDAM and other new cultural buildings. The twin yellow towers houses the European Court of Justice (Dominique PERRAULT, 1996-2008).
