Description:
Book on table. Text accompanying the show reads: "Whitby was once a thriving fishing port in which huge amounts of fish were landed every week. These days the fishing industry in Whitby is nearly extinct. Strict laws put into place by the European Union make it very hard for fishermen to catch and make a living from fish, this has resulted in many fishermen being forced out of the industry. I spent some time documenting what remains of the fishing industry in Whitby, showing the work involved and the scenes that these people see on a daily basis." Location: outside the Gallery in the Furnival Building.
