Description:
Text accompanying the show reads: "Matt Hagan has collected a wide variety of traditional holiday postcards, and by a means of appropriation, re-worked and re-imagined their form. By focusing on postcards it allows Matt to view the image as objects that he cuts and rearranges, the resulting images highlight the witty and unusualness that can be found in the banal, generic postcard. / Highlighting certain individuals within the postcards, focusing on colour, shape and body language, once removed from their original context become very suggestive. / The individual selections, resembling the view of a telescope, invites the viewer to focus on the smaller details within the postcard, information that would normally remain unnoticed, inadvertently becomes the most compelling." Location: outside the Gallery in the Furnival Building.
