Description:
|
Exterior view: Shop frontage - heavily altered in the 19th century. Gives access to the 20th century Grosvenor Shopping Centre behind it. One of several streets of facades containing a double row of shops - one at street level frontage with steps down to basement stores, one accessed from raised continous walkways. These are unique, in this form and extent, to Chester. Some of the lower level shops have Roman architectural relics incorporated into their structure. Location: Upper Bridge Street.
