Tourist car park, with cars and camper vans, outside the village of Vézelay. Tourist cars are not permitted access to the village. Vézelay Abbey (Basilique Ste-Madeleine) sits at the top of the hillside village, which is itself a hugely popular tourist destination. The church was built between 1096 and 1215.
