Exterior view: University buildings including the 14-storey Bowland Tower. This contains student accommodation and also hides the boiler room chimney. Lancaster University's Bailrigg Campus built (1965-) on land donated by Lancaster City Council in 1963. The University was established in 1964. Lead architects : Peter Shepheard and Gabriel Epstein of Shepheard & Epstein - later to become Shepheard Epstein Hunter. The original campus was completed 1971.
