Description:
|
Exterior detail. The office tower has a round core on top of which is a tower with a reuleaux triangle plan - a triangle with convex sides. Rooms have continually varying depths which gives a lot of flexibitility when designing the different office floors. The south side, most exposed to the prevailing weather, has a back-ventilated double facade, the other tow sides have a single shell facade. At ground level it connects to further offices and to the Hyatt Hotel which overlooks the river Rhine. There is a public observation plaform on its roof for tourists. The views of the city and the River Rhine are spectacular and have done much to reconcile the building to local inhabitants, as there was some initial opposition to its construction.
