Interior detail: section of frieze. [Photographed in 1971] Darius the Great (550486 BC) begun the construction of buildings at this site, which lasted throughout the Achmaeninid Empire, until 330 BC when they were looted and burnt by Alexander the Great. World Heritage Site.
