Built on land bought by Joseph Rowntree. 28 new houses originally built on 123 acresto designs by Raymond UNWIN and subsequently let to workers at Rowntrees at 5s. a week. Some hundreds of additional houses were added throughout the 20th century. Barry PARKER became the architect for the project (1919-1946).
