|
Location: St Pancras Station. General view of sculpture. The inscription reads: Inner circle of text: "JOHN BETJEMAN 1906-1984 Who saved this glorious station." Outer circle of text from the poem Cornish Cliffs: "And in the shadowless unclouded glare Deep blue above us fades to whiteness where A misty sea-line meets the wash of air." Further texts from Betjeman's poems are inscribed on circular plaques set in the floor in the adjacent area. The statue was installed on 12th November 2007 as part of a major refurbishment and re-design of the station.
