|
Location: view from the top of the Arndale Centre car park. The CIS Building (1958-1962) is to the rear. A 25 storey office building designed as the Co-operative Society's Headquarters in Manchester. The building is composed of a steel and glass tower, the working offices portion of the building, attached to a concrete service tower, the surface of the latter being tiled. The Shudehill Interchange in front of the CIS Building was designed by IAN SIMPSON Architects & JEFFERSON SHEARD Architects (2003-2006) as a bus / tram / car transport interchange.
