Description:
|
Exterior view: Redevelopment after World War II bomb damage. Foreground shows Stage 2 of the Golden Lane Estate, on the north edge of the City of London, during construction. In the background is Great Arthur House (completed in 1957). Much of this area was built to provide housing for those working to service the City of London, which had nearly a third of its buildings destroyed in World War II. [photographed on August 1, 1960]
