Description:
|
Interior detail: view with domed roof and iron pillars. Location: Botanic Gardens, Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow. Kibble Palace was originally a conservatory (built in 1865) at KIBBLE's private residence, Coulport House near Loch Long. It was re-built and extended, thanks to the efforts of John Kibble, in the Botanic Gardens and used as a dance and concert hall until 1891, after which it became Glasgow's winter gardens. Restored in 2003 as part of a scheme to increase visitor usage of the Gardens.
