Description:
|
Exterior view: a portion of the west facade on Binnenkant, looking upwards. Wooden window frames and adjacent sculptural and other decoration with elaborate brickwork and rooftop details. Built to accommodate six different shipping companies and now in use as the Grand Hotel Amrâth. The architects worked as a co-operative. One of the more flamboyant works of the Amsterdam School shaped like a moored boat - the starboard side is on the Prins Hendrikkade and the bow (shown here) points towards Amsterdam Central Station.
