Exterior detail: rear of the main stand - Block C. It was designed by Sheffield City Council's Design & Building Services and built by RM Douglas Construction. Structural engineers were YRM-Anthony Hunt Associates of Sheffield. The complex opened in 1990, ready for the 1991 World Student Games, and was part of a redevelopment plan for the Lower Don Valley incorporating the Stadium, the Don Valley Bowl and Arena.
