A circular notices, "Awareness Point". Titled "Water" it explains how rainwater can be collected and used on the garden and the benefits of doing so. Beneath is a rainwater butt. "Welcome to Lockton, YHA's first Green Beacon Youth Hostel, an exemplar of sustainable tourism..." Its walls are covered with circular notices, "Awareness Points", highlighting the eco-friendly features in the hostel. The YHA's first eco-hostel, re-opened in March 2005 after extensive reconstruction. Originally the village school. Features include wool insulation in the walls and roof, a rainwater harvesting system, live sedum roof, a compost toilet and photovoltaic cells.
