Description:
|
View of these two buildings nearing completion. View from the Viewing Terrace of the Palace of Culture and Science. This building was 'a gift', at the behest of Stalin, from the Soviet Union to the people of Poland. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989 the function of the building has changed. The Polish Communist Party originally met here in the Congress Hall. It now houses an exhibition centre, theatres, conference spaces, offices, and radio and TV broadcasting companies. The clocks were added to the facade in 2000.
