Description:
|
Exterior view looking down onto Church Street in 1993 before the tramlines were installed. Commission: The Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Paul, Sheffield, was granted cathedral status in 1914 and expanded and restored to designs by Charles NICHOLSON. Following some war damage, this work was begun again with a new architect, Arthur BAILEY. The white building opposite is on the site of the original Cole Brothers building; behind it is the bottom of Fargate.
