Location: Lady Lever Art Gallery, Port Sunlight The painting is in an ornate gold frame hanging on a wall. Reclining women under a tree with a swan in the foreground. This is typical of the paintings on show in the gallery. Lord Lever bought 'The Garden of the Hesperides' together with 'Daphnephoria' in 1913 from the Christie's auction of the collection of the famous collector of Victorian art, George McCullogh. Segar OWEN was the son of William OWEN. The Gallery is a Grade II listed building founded by William Hesketh Lever, the first Lord Leverhulme, the Sunlight soap magnate.
