Description:
Interior of the Tabernacle. View from the balcony looking down into the auditorium with part of the stage (left) and the balcony sweeping round three sides of the building. After extensive renovation, The Tabernacle, a former Wesleyan Chapel was re-opened as a centre for the performing arts on 11th October 1986. It is run by a Charitable Company, The Machynlleth Tabernacle Trust, who have subsequently bought the building to the left which has been opened as the Museum Of Modern Art, Wales (MOMA). It holds a permanent collection of modern Welsh artists and also holds temporary exhibitions. Final alterations saw the chapel entrance alterations in 1997. The building is also used for a variety of adult education classes.
