Information Board at Cavern Car Park exit: "This Way to The D@vil's Arse". Peak Cavern was called 'The Devil's Arse' locally until a royal visit from Queen Victoira when it was re-named. 2004 sensibilities were thought robust enough to revert to the original name. All four caverns in Castleton were re-branded in c. 2004 in a joint marketing exercise.
