Description:
One of the cafes within the market called Tennant's, the back wall of which has windows with fake views and dressed with chintzy curtains. The earliest part of the markets comprised of the fish and vegetable stalls and was built in the inter-war period, the remaining building, off Exchange Street, as we see today was completed in 1965. The foundations were built on the original site of Sheffield Castle, an excavation in 1927 revealed part of the base of one of the towers, which is open to the public via a pre-arranged appointment.
