A stainless steel tower filled with bronze castings of machinery. Location: Heeley Retail Park, Chesterfield Road, Sheffield S8. Entrance to the site is opposite Beeton Road. (A-Z p.110 2D) Description: Elements of machinery cast in bronze and encased in an open stainless steel column. Ht: c. 5m. Diameter at base c. 1.3m. Commission: GUD Pension Trust with J.F.Finnegan. An onsite plaque at the base of the column reads: 'HEELEY SIDINGS / BY MIKE JOHNSON / THIS SCULPTURE WAS COMMISSIONED BY / GUD PENSION TRUST IN CONJUNCTION / WITH J.F.FINNEGAN LTD. AS PART OF / SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL'S PER CENT / FOR ARTS POLICY / THE WORK REFERS TO THE FORMER USE / OF THE SITE AS A RAILWAY SIDINGS / NOVEMBER 1998'
