Description:
|
This fountain was erected as a memorial to Sarah McCreery, wife of Joseph Locke, who oversaw the development of the Park after her husband's death in 1860. In his will Locke left the land on which the Park is situated to the people of Barnsley. The fountain has been extensively vandalised and was filled in as a planter by park gardeners.
