Description:
|
View of cockerell. Location: Arranged in the 'natural' surroundings of Heeley City Farm. Description: A range of animals including a goat, a chicken standing on a duck and a speckled turkey, made out of concrete. Commission: Made with active help from schoolchildren from two local primary schools. The commission was created through the Graves Art Gallery's Education Officer and took place while a solo exhibition of Mayne's work was on show in the Gallery. Comment: The farm suffered a bad fire in 1996 and the goat and turkey were destroyed. The duck and hen remain although curiously the latter no longer sits on the duck's back!
