Commission: Stadium Developers, the same company as at Meadowhall Retail Park where Bermejo's 'Marble Players' are located. Comment: Originally the developers hoped for four pieces, two larger than those completed, unfortunately budget restrictions intervened. The choice of subject was suggested by the artist. The figures were carved on site, in one of the then-empty retail outlets. |
