View from bridge across Canal in the centre of the Park. Suspended walkway with Folies and the rock music venue Le Zenith behind them. This new park was one of President Mitterand's Grand Projets. It was designed by Bernard TSCHUMI and featured a grid of red Folies, of varying designs, some of which were put to practical uses. The Park is crossed by the Canal de l'Ourcq and also houses the Cité des Sciences (Museum of Science and Technology), the National Conservatory of Music and the Grande Halle de la Villette - a venue for cultural and sporting events. The Etablissement Public du Parc et de la Grande Halle de la Villette (EPPGHV) is in charge of cultural events as well as the maintenance and security of the park.")
