View looking over the top of the cylinder. The sounds of water running between the two cylindrical walls is amplified in the central space. Location: Parc de La Villette, Paris 19e. Google maps < https://goo.gl/maps/rAfjE > . This new park was one of President Mitterand's Grand Projets. It was designed by Bernard TSCHUMI and featured a grid of red Folies, of varying designs, some of which were put to practical uses. The Park is crossed by the Canal de l'Ourcq and also houses the Cité des Sciences (Museum of Science and Technology), the National Conservatory of Music and the Grande Halle de la Villette - a venue for cultural and sporting events.
