Location: Parc de La Villette, Paris 19e. Google maps < https://goo.gl/maps/rAfjE > . Rock music venue in the Park. This new park was one of President Mitterand's Grand Projets. It was designed by Bernard TSCHUMI and featured a grid of red Folies, of varying designs, some of which were put to practical uses. The Park is crossed by the Canal de l'Ourcq and also houses the Cité des Sciences (Museum of Science and Technology), the National Conservatory of Music and the Grande Halle de la Villette - a venue for cultural and sporting events. Information from the Parc de la Villette web site, Apr. 15, 2004 ("The old slaughterhouses of la Villette, at the crossroads of the 19th arrondissement of Paris and the Seine-Saint-Denis suburbs have made room for a one of a kind complex associating nature and architecture, leisure and culture. With 35 hectares of lawns and gardens, the Parc de la Villette is the largest green space in Paris ... The Etablissement Public du Parc et de la Grande Halle de la Villette (EPPGHV) is in charge of cultural events as well as the maintenance and security of the park.")
