Description:
Location: Ruskin Gallery. Exterior view of the windows of the Ruskin Gallery in Norfolk Street. Description: Twisted, hammered and stretched metal rods of varying length and breadth. Interior staircase railing and balustrade also by Lund. Commission: Sheffield City Council, grant-aided by the Craft Council. Comment: The individual window rods are an imaginative solution to the security requirements for the gallery. They also serve to attract attention to the nature of the building. Although Lund originally insisted that his work is site -specific and that it would not be appropriate for it to be relocated, some of these grilles have been moved to the Winter Gardens.
