Description: 
Rear view of the soldier. Location: In a tiny walled garden at the corner of Savage Lane and Vicarage Lane, Dore, S17. (A-Z p.120 2D) Description: A private soldier standing to attention with his rifle grounded. This figure is carved in granite and placed on a fine sandstone pedestal to which is attached bronze panels with details of the dead from two world wars. Commission: The monument was unveiled in December 1921. Possibly on December 17th [1] Comment: A plaque detailing the World War 2 dead was added at a later date; it includes the names of two women.
