Description:
|
View of the gate. Location: Bramall Lane - sited on a pedestrian gate opening into a site for student accomodation. Description: MThe gate is made from rods of galvanised steel forged with the imprints of various tools and items of cutlery. It has been overpainted which has made it much more difficult to identify the imprinted tools and other items. Commission: Birse Construction for Sheffield Hallam University. Comment: The overpainting of this gate is far less successful than the unpainted stainless steel gates which Johnson made for the Ibis Hotel in the city centre.
