Description:
Detail. One table base. Location: The bases of 2 outside tables, Bar Centro, Backfields, off Cambridge Street, S1 Description: Bronze casts around a plinth into which the table leg goes. Each piece is 90 cm in diameter and weighs 100 kg. Commission: Vaux Breweries. 2 artists were invited to suggest a design for something to be sited outside which would be durable. Artist's Comment: "These works fit into a contemporary design situation ... simple and cost effective, probably short-lived. I wanted to make something rich in detail and attract attention to detail." [1] References: [1] Letter from artist. 24th February 2000
